At African Conservation Experience we are growing a conservation travel company that helps people support wildlife conservation through inspirational travel. We want to work with people who are as motivated as we are to make a positive impact on everything from the travel industry to the projects we partner with to the people who travel with us. We are looking for an analytical and creative marketing professional. Someone with an entrepreneurial spirit who is hungry for the next challenge with a successful and ambitious travel organisation.

About the Role

As the interest and need for genuine conservation travel grow, we’re seeing more people than ever getting in touch with us from all four corners of the globe. We’re embarking on the next stage in our journey and need a talented marketing manager to help drive our established organisation forward.

Working closely with our international team of experts and reporting directly to the Management Team, this is a multi-faceted position that is ideally suited to a flexible, organised and driven individual looking for an opportunity to step up. You will have a lot of autonomy in the role, allowing you to use your experience, instinct, initiative and allocated budget to try new things and drive the marketing agenda forward.

Working Hours

Full time, 40 hours per week. Flexible hours and hybrid working – We expect to open a new office in the Bristol area in 2023.


What we Offer

  • Annual salary of £35,000 to £45,000. We have kept the salary range broad because we are equally happy to train the right up-and-coming marketer manager as we are to make a more senior hire.

About African Conservation Experience

Founded in 1999, we are southern Africa’s original conservation travel and volunteering company. Headquartered in the UK with full-time teams on the ground in The Netherlands and South Africa, we play an active role in supporting genuine wildlife conservation work through organising conservation travel experiences. We do this by embedding ourselves in the region’s conservation community, providing equipment, money and guidance to projects and even pioneering our own where needed.


Our team are not only experienced in travel management but also carry zoological and conservation-related qualifications, providing outstanding personal consultation to our travellers. This conservation-first approach makes us a very different breed to online booking agents and volunteering platforms. It’s also one of the many reasons why thousands of people around the world have enjoyed an unforgettable experience travelling with us.


We are the only organisation of our kind that has been offered membership of ABTA, one of the world’s most recognised quality standards for travel and we financially protect trips for all of our travellers through ABTA or ATOL.

Job requirements

Perhaps you’re currently working in a senior marketing or marketing manager role or in an agency with a digital marketing focus. Maybe you’ve pushed the boundaries of the role and are enthused by the idea of putting your broad skillset into practice in an ambitious, growing business. Wherever you’re coming from you’ve built an exceptional network and the people around you will be sad to see you go.

Need to have

  • Degree level or equivalent. Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Experience creating high-calibre marketing strategies and putting them into action
  • Experience in marketing products and services, with a particular flair for digital marketing
  • Proven experience and understanding of digital marketing (PPC, SEO, social media, Google ads) to monitor progress and drive results
  • Experience in influencer marketing and digital content creation
  • A track record of building strong relationships and getting the best out of the people around you
  • Excellent project management and execution to deliver high-quality final output, in line with the main campaign objective
  • An ability to deliver creative and impactful campaigns which communicate our brand message and stand out from our competitors
  • Passion and curiosity about trends in digital marketing, social media and content creation

Nice to have

  • Experience and exposure to the leisure, tourism or lifestyle industries
  • Strong networking in social media agencies and digital partners
  • Experience with marketing automation tools such as Hubspot and Google Data Studio
  • Comfortable analysing large data sets and working with Google Analytics
